In 14.2, I have noticed odd files popping up, like this:

/etc/schroot/chroot.d/.alpha32.un~

I haven't worked out how to reproduce it yet - it's certainly not every deleted file. When packaging just now, I got several .SLKBUILD.un~ files.

Does anyone else using current have any files like that knocking around?
was how I looked for them.

I have been outed as a vim user ...

Noticed the same, vim not only saves a backup file foo~ now, but also another one called foo.un~.

Time to switch to Emacs; I did it years ago, and never regretted it.

I once started with Vi and carried on with Vim and Elvis on all used Unix/Linux systems. Later I used SciTE for a long time. But that software was ever combined with porting and configuration problems. Since Salix, I'm using on the GUI only Geany and if unavoidable Leafpad. On the console I'm using Vim.

Creating of undo files (*.un~) is configurable.
