[SOLVED] gdm problem

i tried to tweak gdm to be in line with my theme setting but unfortunately i broke something. Now, when i am logged in i'm prompted by a second screen asking me to choose the session i want to start. Before it went straightforward to xfce. And the sessions seem to accumulate ... (?)
Logging in without login manager using startx all works like expected.
Thanks a lot in advance for any help!

This doesn't sound like a bug to me - you can probably make it go away again by adjusting the options on that screen. I don't use it myself so I don't have it in front of me.
Just as a general comment though, if you keep tweaking things like that, which you are of course free to do, things may well break or behave unexpectedly, and it isn't really the distribution's fault. It has already been tweaked, and thoroughly tested with those tweaks. One of the things that Salix aims to do that Sackware doesn't is to provide a good ergonomic experience out of the box, so you don't have to tweak it.

1. Thanks for your patience.
2. Don't take me wrong, that's absolutely not a lament about salix. I'm happy with and well aware, that it was me breaking something

(I wanted the loginmanager to have another background and to respect the theme i had set for the xfce environment).

Problem solved:
For some reason, there was set in xfce settings: choose and save sessions. After i unticked them, that second window after the login disappeared.
