I checked the packages to see if I needed to install HPLIP, but the package manager says it is installed. I looked to see if I could find the HP Device Manager application, but I did not see one. I also looked for a printer utility application, but I do not see that either. Please advise. Thanks.

The QT GUI for hplip is not included in the salix package, because QT is not installed by default in salix. Running hp-setup from the terminal should work though.

There is also no need for a printer management application, CUPS already has a web UI. Find it under System/Manage Printing.
