Of course! Actually, there's a very high chance that 13.1RC1 is going to be 13.1.

Great news! That was the push I needed to start downloading it.

Also, to answer the previous question, I believe:

slapt-get --update
slapt-get --upgrade

should get your from beta -> RC or beta -> final or RC -> final. I'm sure one of the developers will correct me if I' wrong.

Works great! It feels faster than Debian Squeeze on my hardware. 8-)

I had some problems with my wireless not being detected in 13.1alpha1, didn't try the beta.

The only problem I've had so far is that I have to do:

Code: Select all

iwconfig wlan0 power off
for my rt73usb wireless to connect. I think it's a kernel problem, as it occurs in all distros with the newer kernels, not Salix's fault.

Once per boot? Then add it to /etc/rc.d/rc.local. That should run it every time you boot Salix.

Hy!

I have used Slax on my USB stick, but it's development is very-very slow, and I'm searching for a new live system. On my destop pc and laptop I'm using Slackware, so I prefer a Slackware based live system.

Can you give me some information when will the SalixLive 13.1 appear?

Thanks

I have i13.1RC1 installed on the following machine:

Pionex Elite
300 mhz Pentium II
192 MB RAM

This is a pretty old machine and it has a tiny bit of lag but I have been running SalixOS for about
four days now without any issues at all. Great work. Of course Youtube is a slideshow but that was
expected.

Has anyone had a problem getting the Salix 13.1rc1 iso image to work using unetbootin? I've tried both the latest version and an older one I still had and I have had no luck getting my usb stick to boot. It appears the resulting image is not bootable. Salix 13.0.x did work so I wonder what has changed.

I used Unetbootin to create a USB stick installer so i could put Salix 13.1rc1 32bit on my subnotebook and it worked like a charm. 8-)
