Need installation help for Salix
Posted: 29. Sep 2023, 05:39
Hi,
I have been using Mageia for about two years and it was working great. However, with the recent upgrade of Mageia to Mageia 9, my iMac has been having issues (getting stuck at times) and had to do hard reboot several times in a week.
I have already used Salix for few years and I am trying to get back to Salix again as this is a rock solid distro. I have a question though. My current partitioning scheme is as shown below.
When I launch the Salix live installation from live USB, I see the option to select the root (/) and home (/home) partition and I don't see an option to specify the /boot/EFI partition. If I just select the root partition to /dev/sda2 and home partition to /dev/sda3 and install grub, will it boot after the install? Or do I need to fix any issues after the install?
Can someone answer?
Thanks in advance.
