Why does my Slackel always self-destruct after the update? Since version 5, I've had the problem that after the update, the X server no longer starts on four different computers, and the Wi-Fi doesn't work on any of my computers.

Can you go to command line (init 3)
and from there type startx to go on X
Then maybe you will see a message about some package missing because new packages added and other removed on slackware current.
Installing the missing packages will connect.
If you updated from version 5 which is too long maybe some packages do not installed? Usually everything is installed from dependencies of packages.
Do you use lightdm?. I do not remember if gdm was used in version 5.
About wifi is wireless-regdb package installed? Slackel 7.7.2 uses NetworkManager.
Have you upgrade kernel-firmware package ?
I update the problems category in slackel forum about slackel problems i solve to help users.
