Tried to install Timeshift from Slackbuilds
I run into a roadblock with the dependency on "valac"

which doesn't seem to be an option
any work arounds?

Did you try installing the vala package?

I think it would be great to package Timeshift for Salix's official repositories. It's highly useful for making incremental backups. I did install the version from the SlackBuilds, but its cron jobs don't work for some reason (even though I selected for monthly).
