Persistency on USB doesn't work....

Hi to everybody. I installed Salix Live on a Sd Card using unebootin from Windows, than I booted from SD card into Salix with no problem on my asus eeePc.

I set a new wifi internet connection and new dimensions for screen and everything was ok. Then I run Persistency Wizard in order to save all my changings. I answered the questions of the wizard and chose to save all on sdc1 device (my sd card).

The problem is that, after rebooting, all changes are lost. File Slxsave.slx was correctly created on my sd card, but it seems that such file is not loaded at start up. I tried to add
changes=/dev/sdc1/slxsave.slx
to boot options, but with no result.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks a lot for your kind help!

The persistence only takes effect after a reboot once the wizard has created the persistence partition.

Do you mean even then it didn't keep your changes?

Yes, I did a reboot and after that all changins were lost: no wifi connection and wrong screen dimensions! What should I try to do? Thanks a lot!

From your first description, it seems that you did changes & then run the persistence wizard, when in fact you should:
1- Run the persistence Wizard
2- Reboot
3- And then makes changes, which only from then on will persist after a subsequent reboot (no need to add the changes= cheatcode which is already included in SalixLive stock menu -- that is if you use SalixLive stock grub menu of course)

Now these two symptoms could also be caused by other things than failed persistence. In the case of wifi, if you want an automatic connection, the box automatic connection must be ticked (but you may already have done that of course -- just double checking...). In the case of screen dimension, a minimal xorg.conf may have to be created for changes to stick.

Are there any other changes that do not stick? Such as a changed wallpaper for example?
