Just few question

So i wanna use Linux as my OS and i wanna kick out Windows XP(in horizon of few days) which was made by pseudo-humanist Gates and cancer maniac Ballmer( i will explain why they obtained these titles in a off topic post).
I tried Kubuntu but it was terrifying experience.
So long story make short the questions:
1)Where can i found or how can i locate in Salix OS the Firefox profiles? Because i wanna restore them(they are already backed up).
2)Is for Salix OS native the NTFS or i must install NTFS 3g? If not how can i install it?
3)The transmission can be started at start of the system?
4)Contain totem codecs for subtitules or i need some kind of subtitule processor?
5)Need i reinstall DIV x system, flash and shokwave?
6)Where can i found ISIS draw-like chemical compounds editor?
7)Is Real player Linux compatible or it codecs are in Totem?
8)Are available drivers for motherboard MA785GM-US2H, its from Gigabyte i think its use ATI drivers?

Thats all for now, i hope its not of topic.

Hi oracle911
In you home directory there's a hidden folder called .mozilla, it contains a folder called firefox and there you can put your backup profile. To see hidden files in thunar you have to press [ctrl] + [H]
If by Transmission you mean the bittorrent client, then yes. To do so you have to go to the Salix menu > Settings > Session and Start, there in the third tab (sorry I don't know how is it called in english for I use the spanish locale) you can add programs that you want to run when you login.
As for your codec needs, in the Salix > Multimedia menu there is a restricted codecs installer, it will install all the codecs available in the repo (including divx, xvid and real media). Flash is already installed if you did a FULL installation unless you have Salix64 installed, and there's no shockwave for linux (blame Adobe for that).
Concerning the drivers issue, they are more likely already in the kernel, and if you have and ATI card you are most likely using the opensource driver already.

I don't know about NTFS because I don't use windows at all in my house :ugeek:

There's ntfs-3g which provides pretty stable read and write support for ntfs volumes.

Yes. You can partition your hard drive with gparted which is included in the live CD and you can format them with gparted, or the installer.
