Just a couple thoughts...
I'm the guy that makes the four versions of nFluxOS; ARCH,Debian,Slackware, and Ubuntu
all four are roughly based on "testing" or unstable versions
ARCH testing repos
Debian sid
Slackware -current
Ubuntu 10.10 soon to be upgraded
anyway, alot of the packages in the Slackware based version are either Slackware, SalixOS, SBopkg, Slacky. and homemade pkgs like nfluxbox
http://multidistro.com/downloads/Apps/slackpkgs.html
Now, i put out a MiniSC & MiniSCR (rescue) that are 178mb & 320mb respectively, the miniscr has Gslapt and many other Salix pkgs but it is based on -current
http://linux.softpedia.com/get/System/O ... 0734.shtml
The best way to install either is the manual-install method, which is easy
it does have a installer (nflux-installer) its console driven and only can install Lilo and doesn't really setup fstab right
the manual-install is in /usr/doc and outlines how to install almost any linux distro to hdd and set it up to boot
it's just mostly copy/paste commands into a terminal
but, theres many ways to kill a cat...
you could boot up one of the salix livecd's, remove all the packages you want
and then do the manual-install and it will copy the whole filesystem to wherever you want
you see, if you add/remove pkgs, then do the manual-install, it only copies the current ramdisk fs to hdd, so whatever changes you make will be retained
so, example you boot up the salixos lxde and remove all the pkgs you want then do the manual-install
you could also use the slackpkg template option
I have the template for the minisc, which is about 700-800mb on hdd
put the template in /etc/slackpkg/templates
and you just do "slackpkg install-template minisc"
however, as I said there are salixos/sbopkg, and homemade pkgs which wont get picked up
http://multidistro.com/NFLUXNEW/SQ4/103 ... c.template
oh wait
why dont you use liveclone to create a cd?
maybe rather involved having to remove so many packages though
best shot may be to install the MiniSCR, get rid of the extra packages and then run Gslapt and downgrade everything from -current to salixos' 13.1
then you would have a mini salixos
just edit the preferences/sources in Gslapt and change to the salixos repos
as they are there but unchecked,
EDIT: heres the newest manual-install I have
