Quodlibet instead of Exaile

Am I the only person that finds quodlibet a better option than exaile? "The plugins" some may argue, but it's so easy to grab the plugins package in the official site and just copy its contents to ~/.quodlibet/plugins.

Besides, the quodlibet package comes with the best tag-editor around, ex falso.

What exaile does what quodlibet doesn't?

Streamtuner2 in combination with SMPlayer

Propably, SMPlayer is the best frontend for mplayer I've ever seen. Streamtuner2 is a rewrite in Python of the classical Streamtuner that was written in C. Streamtuner2 can parse a lot more online dictionaries for streams (e.g. besides others, Xiph, Live365 and basic.ch), though Shoutcast is still also possible with a plugin.
Exaile sucks in the support of Shoutcast. AOL decides silently to change the layout of the Shoutcast homepage, so the exaile parser is broken again and again.

Can quodlibet parse any online dictionaries?

I use audacious 2.4.0(gtk interface by default) with streambrowser plugin and it is just great.
I used Exaile(about a year) and Quodlibet too, so if to choose between it Exaile is much more better imho.

I like Quodlibet more than Exaile, too, but as schlawi54 just asked, Can Quod Libet parse any online dictionaries like SHOUTcast or IceCast or Jamendo.

What about iPod (external device) support, USB Mass Storage Media Player Support, StreamRipper (stream recorder, the easiest that I know of for Linux) I think that these are very necessary for new GNU/Linux users.

Exaile is very easy to use and I was very impressed when I first saw how it is working when I used Salix OS for the first time

What about: Exaile: Edit > Preferences > Plugins > Ex Falso tag editor ?
As it seems, to me, the Ex Falso tag editor plugin works quite the same.

I've always like Exaile but I have to admit that audacious has come a long way since the last time I used it.

Audacious does not work properly with some streams. I guess problems with gstreamer codecs, non-free (bad as well as ugly) codecs are installed. I prefer SMPlayer (or mplayer) because it can also play all movies here, so I only have to install one player.

SHOUTcast support is not needed to survive. Use Xiph.org instead, you'll find most of the streams there as well. Third option is to use local private bookmarks.

Streamtuner2 is Python, so it is noarch. Though, the classic Streamtuner was written in C and therefore needed to be shipped as package individually for each architecture. The configuration can be patched to use every player that the user likes, the question is then what default configuration to ship and not break any dependency.
