Hello everyone. Congratulations to the developers for a great Slackware based Linux distribution. Slackware was my second distro after redhat back in the 1990's. I am trying Salix because I only have a cdrom writer and don't want to download multiple iso images for a complete install of Slackware. I am coming from a Debian background.
1. Are the Gslapt and Slackpkg package managers compatible? Will they conflict in some way? As far as I can tell, gslapt-get is the cli (command line interface) of gslapt and slackpkg is the cli of pkgtool.
2. Why the name Salix? Just curious...
Thanks
Gslapt and Slackpkg

gslapt is the GUI of slapt-get.1. Are the Gslapt and Slackpkg package managers compatible? Will they conflict in some way? As far as I can tell, gslapt-get is the cli (command line interface) of gslapt and slackpkg is the cli of pkgtool.
slackpkg is another tool like slapt-get.
pkgtool is some kind of CLI for installpkg, removepkg and upgradepkg.
Because we liked it in our "find a name thread"2. Why the name Salix? Just curious...
