GUI installer
GUI installer
Is the graphical installation program available only on the live CD, or is there an option on the install CD that I'm missing?
Re: GUI installer
I would like to add that the GUI Distro Installer on the Salix LiveCD is probably the best Desktop Distro installer that I have seen to date.Only on the live CD.
Please make the Installer your Default installer on all Salix Distro CDs...

Re: GUI installer
To be honest I like the text-based installer better. I am, however, searching for a distro to recommend for noobs, so the graphical installer (and this is a good one) is nice to have. Not that the text-based one is difficult, but text-based anything intimidates newcomers.sqlpython wrote:I would like to add that the GUI Distro Installer on the Salix LiveCD is probably the best Desktop Distro installer that I have seen to date.Only on the live CD.

Re: GUI installer
At one time I would have been right there with you.To be honest I like the text-based installer better.
Having seen my first Text-Based installer with Slackware 3.0 I have lost my taste for anything Curses based. These days, Looking at Midnight Commander gives me the chills..

These days a good GUI interface for anything seems to be expected and the rule.. Personally, if I want to get a single function outputted I will default to a CLI to get the quick answer otherwise for multiple inquiries I will default to a GUI interface of some kind..
I believe, The audience that you are targeting will be impressed by the Salix GUI installer.
