How To: Migration of Settings

Post by sqlpython »

Regular Xfce users are certainly aware of this info.
However I am a KDE/Gnome user and I am learning Xfce..

I installed CrossOver (the WINE front end) from Codeweavers. I have used it for years to install Iexplorer. My excuse is a a Corporation that I work with has a IExplorer ONLY site.. All Else Is Refused.
Bummer.I know..

Anyhow when finished the CrossOver Install Adds a Other SubMenu to the Application Menu with all the Codeweaver Utilities. While changing default sessions Saving/Removing etc.. I lost the Sub Menu called OTHER...

How to get it back...........
cd /usr/lib/xfce4/xfconf-migration
perl xfconf-migration-4.6.pl

You may set this to run every time at start up by Settings>SessionStartUP>Application AutoStart..
Running this perl script migrates apps to the menu and using it for this purpose as well as running other migrations

migrate_xfdesktop)));
migrate_xsettings)));
migrate_keyboard)));
migrate_mouse)));
migrate_xfwm4)));
migrate_xfwm4_shortcuts)));
migrate_wmtweaks)));
migrate_workspaces)));
migrate_xfprint)));
migrate_keyboard_shortcuts)));
