I took my first linux baby steps with ubuntu and was using it for a while. Not convinced of the actual development ("Unity") and the future trend of that project, disappointed about the bad quality of the XFCE based version (Xubuntu) I started distro hopping.
Looking for a clean, minimalist and cute distribution predominantly based on one of the well known "big three" distros I found Salix OS and here I will stay !
At first a little bit anxious (as newbie) about the change from a debian based to slackware based distro, running, installing and configuring it to my needs went off without any specific problems.
So what is it all about ? I hope you keep on doing your great job !
And my message to the masses of ubuntu users - don't be afraid of changing to a slackware based distribution ! Vote for Salix

PS: Unfortunately the Salix LiveInstaller (13.1.2 LiveCD XFCE) couldn't handle pure LUKS or LUKS over LVM drives, the partions list didn't list the correct entries so I had to encrypt and mount /home after finishing the installation. Furthermore I guess it would be a great enhancement if filesytem / drive encryption could be a part of the installer.
