fluxbox + icon desktop

I have installed kde salix 13.37. Fluxbox installed

How to make icons visible on the Desktop?
Idesk application is not in the repos. Do I have to compile idesk, is another solution?

Fluxbox doesn't offer any icons on the desktop. You will need to use a 3rd party app to do that. You can compile idesk from source I guess, or you could probably use pcmanfm as a desktop manager too. But if you want desktop icons, then maybe fluxbox is not the right WM for you.

Icons on the desktop are useless, they are hidden by applications anyway
