Intel "Shadow" option causes X to segfault

Post by GJones »

If I enable the "Shadow" option in xorg.conf on any of my Intel GPU laptops, it causes Xorg to segfault on start. I'm fairly sure this shouldn't happen; "Shadow" disables all 2D acceleration, and is primarily intended to help Intel driver stability on systems where hardware acceleration is buggy.

I've been Googling around for other reports of this, but haven't found any, which suggests to me it may be Salix and/or Slackware specific... I'll see if I can duplicate it on stock Slack 13.37.

Edit: N/M, this happens on Slackware too.
