Greetings from USA

Post by ghostdawg »

Hello all. I've been reading good things about Salix and decided I would give it a try. I haven't installed it yet but will be doing so ASAP. I've been using Linux for a number of years but doesn't consider myself an expert, so I will have questions to ask.

My current distros I have installed are Mageia 1 and Linux Mint Debian Edition.

Thnx.

Cardinals suck. Just kidding, they're better than the Giants this year.
I think you'll find that Salix is alot more "hands on" than Mint or Mageia.
There are very knowledgeable and good people in this forum that can help you get going.
Welcome. I hope you will like Salix as much as I do.

Greetings from Brownsmead Oregon, the Center of the Universe. 8-) Today we host the annual Brownsmead Corn Feed, an all-you-can-eat fundraiser for the historic Grange building.

Just follow the Columbia River west from Tim CowChip's place, until you reach Aldrich Point near Woody Island. If you miss the pier, just float on down to Astoria, recently voted the Second Coolest Town in the USA. Do be sure to put ashore before you reach the ocean though, because the Columbia River Bar is also known as the Graveyard of the Pacific. :!:

Welcome Aboard..
Salix is a Great way to install and run a Slackware Distro.

Red Sox? Red Sox?

Oh Yeah, didn't they sometimes play against the World Champion Yankees!
Note: As of the end of the 2010 season, the Yankees have won 27 World Series championships. :)

Thanks for the warm greetings everyone. Yes, the Cardinals sucks at times but they seem to be heading for the World Series and my pick is against the Texas Rangers!

I haven't installed Salix yet but have one concern, and that is how does it work with Brother's AIO printers? Mine is an MFC-5440cn which Brother offer RPMs and Deb drivers, other than the source.

What would be the best way to get this printer to work?
