Low volume

Hi
I"m a happy salix user at a basic level,
but one issue I have is that my laptop seems to have a very limited volume range, even when plugged into speakers or an amplified receiver.
I've cranked up the volume in individual applications, and cranked Mixer to the max on all controls, but am not getting the power I want.
Is this just my laptop being weak?
Or does salix have some additional control to let me Pump up the Jam?

There may be some button in alsamixer named "external amp" or "boost" or something.

I have the same issue, also happends with movies.

I dont seem to find the bottuns you mention thenktor, would it be posible to get some more detail on the location

That was just a guess. Maybe you have to use some laptop specific module options for your sound hardware. First check what sound modules you are using by "lsmod | grep snd".
