Issues with copy/paste

I'm running Salix 13.37 with the i3 window manager (which is launched via gdm session). I've been noticing that copying and pasting behavior has become unpredictable since I switched to i3 and I'm not sure why. Sometimes when I copy from an application and try to paste in another, it pastes the previous thing I copied, but sometimes it pastes the thing I just copied. There seems to be no rhyme or reason why, and I don't really have the knowledge of X11 clipboard functionality to debug it.

Any ideas on how I can get the clipboard behavior more consistent or how to debug this?

You first need to determine if it's i3 that's doing that (most probably it is) or not. Does it still happen with another window manager?

I've been running in Xfce for most of the morning and I haven't had the copy/paste issue yet, so maybe it is i3. I'll see if I can contact the devs for answers. Thanks.
