[Solved] Security updates with 13.0 repo

Post by laplume »

Hello All,
I have set my Gslapt to look for updates using only this repository:
http://salix.enialis.net/i486/13.0/

Is this repository covering also security updates on par with Slackware security patches/fixes?

Thanks for info
Antonio

You should also add a slackware 13.0 repository. Salix repositories do not include slackware packages.

Thanks for the tip Gapan,
I have just set also
http://salix.enialis.net/i486/slackware-13.0/
as default, but strange things are happening. I run Glaspt and it keeps asking to confirm updates that are simply a downgrade from an existing version.
For instance,
Firefox is going from 10.0.2-i686-1gv to 3.6.24.i686-1

A bunch of other packages are being 'upgraded' this way.
Shall I set repo priorities differently (i.e. Salix repos as 'preferred' and Slackware as 'default' or the other way round)?

Right now, I am keeping only Salix repo as official and active to avoid mess up.
Need some advice if possible to sort this out.
Thanks in advance for help.

Of course you need to set up priorities. The best way would be:
slackware=OFFICIAL
salix=PREFERRED
just the way it is by default in salix.

Thanks Gapan, it's working fine now. I'll mark the thread as solved.
