Hello,
I have a Verizon wireless card and I want to get it to work under Salix. Does anyone have any resources that would help?
I used this link in the past. http://archive09.linux.com/feature/52729
I know it is a few years old, but I was able to get this specific card to work with Debian after fiddling with the steps. No such luck with Salix.
It is a USB card and the model number is UMW190 if that helps. Thanks,

I saw that as well. That didn't seem to work for me. Possibly because it is recommending kppp and I don't have that installed. I'm using Fluxbox. Is there another ppp app that I can use?
I'm assuming that the usb_modeswitch is working properly. It didn't give me any error messages. Is there any way I can verify?

No luck. I also noticed another strange issue. Looks like lsusb is giving me 2 different product ids at different times.
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 106c:3b05 Curitel Communications, Inc.
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 106c:3716 Curitel Communications, Inc.
It seems like the first one is the hard drive device and the second is the modem. Does that indicate that the usb_modeswitch isn't working?

Try Sakis3g. It has been the easiest way to make wireless 3g connections for me:
http://www.sakis3g.org/
Get the Full version, not the binary free version, if you don't want to install and mess with usbmodeswitch yourself.
