How do you know that?

Yes.

By the magic of slapt-get.

Like which ones?

One last question: Are you sure you know what you're talking about?

sorry gapan, i'm still new in linux, moreover slackware and its derivatives.
once i read a review about salix and it said about the repository too, sorry i forget where the article is. eg. i can't find cheese and some games. sourcery has more, but no cheese either. i know guvcview works, but i like cheese better.
another thing, installing package via gslapt is much faster than sourcery that must compile the source first.
i think slackware's repository has wider range of packages, so i wonder if i can use it in salix.
sorry for my noob-ness.

What makes you think that? And what makes you think you'll find cheese or guvcview in slackware?

That is not a slackware repository. That is a third party repository (slacky) that holds packages for slackware (one that is infamous for its broken packages for that matter). Do you understand the difference?

You can add it to your /etc/slapt-get/slapt-getrc. But be aware that then you'll be subject to this: http://www.salixos.org/wiki/index.php/C ... itories%3F

To answer your original question, yes, salix already uses the slackware repository, one that has added dependency support too. What you see in gslapt is a combination of slackware and salix repositories. Right now the actual numbers are 2044 packages available in total, 1018 of which come from slackware and 1024 of which come from salix. So your "knowing" that salix's repository is not as rich as slackware's was completely bogus.
