Sony Vaio external speakers not working

Hello,

I apologize if this has been brought up before. I couldn't find any postings or information so I thought I'd post this. I have a Sony Vaio laptop and recently installed Salix 13.37 64bit with KDE. Everything works great and I love it. My only problem right now is that my external speakers are not working (jack not recognized?). The external speakers work fine with Windows (dual boot) so I know it's not a hardware issue. It's not a deal breaker for me because I'm happy with Salix, but it would be nice to have my speakers working. Thanks.
