Lovin' It

Post by drlove »

Greetings...I just wanted to introduce myself to the community and say kudos to the developers of this awesome distro! I've been a Debian user for the majority of my time exploring Linux (less than 2 years :roll:). I dabbled a little in Arch as well but decided that wasn't for me. I've always been curious about Slackware, but never got around to using it until now. As I was searching for Slackware based distros, I came across this hidden gem...I've got Salix 14.0 Xfce 64bit running on my machine and I'm loving it! This is a solid distro and as the bonsai tree suggests, I can clearly see a lot of care goes into making this os. So anyway, thanks for making it and keep up the great work!

-drlove

P.S. I do have one issue I've been trying to work out, but I think I will post a new topic in the appropriate thread.

Hi drlove, long-time Slackware user here, replying in case the European devs are already done for the night. Welcome from the Pacific Northwest!

I first used a couple of other Linux distros which were less than totally free, at least in spirit. As you imply, more exposure really could benefit both the Salix project, and all potential users. We have limited activity on Google Plus, which is my only "social network."

So here's hoping that you find what you're looking for with Salix, and help spread the word :cool:

Thanks for the welcome...a trip to the Pacific Northwest is on my to do list :D. I've been stuck in the Southeast all of my life and have only traveled up and down the eastern coast. And yeah I suppose more exposure could do the project well. I'll do what I can to contribute and help out on the forums.

When I saw the drlove nick, my first thought was "that has to be a spammer" :D

Turns out I was wrong (thankfully). Welcome to the forums. :)

@jcoleman - Like it a lot and just from browsing the forums I see a great team.

@Akuna & @djemos - Thanks for the welcome and Happy 2013!

@gapan - :lol: yeah no spammer here...I've been using that nick for a long time now...I used to be a ddr (dance dance revolution) junkie back in the day and that was one of my favorite songs on there. Anyway thanks for the welcome.
