Yes knome, they've been spamming the Forum quite a lot lately. It would be
ever so rewarding to hear that you have crossed them off your list.
I live in the U.S.A., so am blissfully ignorant of their
other business practices. However, to repeat what I asked on Google Plus: Is spamming online Forums really a viable business model?
Up 'til now I've followed the usual advice, "Don't feed the trolls," and dutifully reported every occurrence of spam here. Just lost it tonight though, and felt the need to
do something.
As to the horse's head: a few years back, LinuxPackages.net was a popular place to get Slackware binaries. Long-time users may recall that their original domain name was LinuxMafia. Also, I grew up in a neighborhood with many Sicilians, some of them close friends. Many more were familiar as restaurant owners, barbers, etc.
With police corruption being legendary in New York City, it was sometimes tempting to seek justice via alternate routes. However, rather than asking for a favor, to be repaid at some future time, I simply sent Google Plus notifications of tonight's post there to friendly folks at Anonymous, CyberPunks, etc.
