I recently installed salixos-lxde-13.37 and it was working very well. I performed steps to upgrade it to version 14 as detailed on this page: http://www.salixos.org/wiki/index.php/H ... 37_to_14.0
All steps went off well except I replaced /etc/passwd, /etc/shadow or /etc/group files by mistake. However, I subsequently renamed .orig files back to these. On restarting the computer, I am getting the login screen all right; but on logging in, an error dialog box comes up informing me that the session only lasted 10 seconds. The errors given are that pcmanfm.conf file is missing and also /usr/bin/lxsession file is missing.
How can I correct this error. Thanks for your help.
No /usr/bin/lxsession after upgrading
Re: No /usr/bin/lxsession after upgrading
Unfortunately lxde is not available in 14.0 (yet?), so you'll need to switch you desktop to something else. You can install xfce with:
Code: Select all
slapt-get --install-set xfce
Re: No /usr/bin/lxsession after upgrading
Thanks for your reply. I reinstalled using salix-xfce-14.iso . It is working very well.
