(Solved) Aptana Studio 3 install problems.

Is anyone running Aptana Studio 3 on Salix OS? I am using Salix64 Xfce 14 and despite having tried to find all the dependencies by comparing notes from install guides for other distros, I keep bumping into a wall with the following error message:

Failed to execute command "/opt/Aptana_Studio_3/AptanaStudio3 %F".
Failed to execute child process "/opt/Aptana_Studio_3/AptanaStudio3" (No such file or directory)

I have created a link in /usr/local/bin and get the following message:

Code: Select all

$ aptana
bash: /usr/local/bin/aptana: No such file or directory

$ aptana3
bash: /usr/local/bin/aptana3: No such file or directory

I have been mainly following this guide for the install itself, but also have the book "Aptana Studio - Beginner's Guide"

Hi

Did you download 64-bit version?
I downloaded the 64-bit version and it works on my 64-bit system. I just unzip ed it an run it from the Aptana_Studio_3 map. If its a long time since you download it maby it was wrong version you got (it was apparently mixed up some time ago)

Thanks for the quick reply. I downloaded it just last week:
Aptana_Studio_3_Setup_Linux_x86_3.4.2.zip
Are you using openjdk or openjre?

but if its Aptana_Studio_3_Setup_Linux_x86_3.4.2.zip you use thats 32-bit

Doh! That was the problem. Not sure how that happened.
