Hi all
I'm using Salix 14.1 Xfce. My problem is when using key combinations I often use like Ctrl+Left, Shift+Right, Ctrl+Backspace, etc. The strange is Ctrl_R+Left works, but Ctrl_R+Right doesn't. Ctrl_L+Right works, but Ctrl_L+Left doesn't. The same with Shift key.
Is this to do with keyboard layout, or something?
Thanks for help.

sorry for my noob-ness guys, i'm new in linux and salix.
Re: Problem with Ctrl and Shift key
What are you expecting those key combinations to do?
You can set Application Shortcuts in Menu > Settings > Keyboard.
You can set Application Shortcuts in Menu > Settings > Keyboard.
Re: Problem with Ctrl and Shift key
I'm sure they're common shortcuts, especially in typing. Ctrl+Left moves cursor one word to the left, Ctrl+Right moves cursor one word to the right, Shift+Left selects one word to the left, etc. My problem is, only one key works, eg. Ctrl_L (left Ctrl) while Ctrl_R (right Ctrl) doesn't. For me, it's strange.knome wrote:What are you expecting those key combinations to do?

You can set Application Shortcuts in Menu > Settings > Keyboard.

Check Menu > Settings > Keyboard > Layout and Menu > System > Keyboard
There are several user/system config files for keybindings. Troubleshooting may be difficult so try creating a new user, log-in as new user and check if the problem remains.
