Hello
Was using wired LAN till now. Due to some constraints, I have switched over to 3G wireless internet. But, I an unable to connect to the net, since SAKIS 3G shows an error saying GSM capabilities not reported by the USB dongle. It is a CDMA service provider
What is the solution?

When you have eliminated all other possibilities, whatever remains, however impossible or improbable, that must be the truth

Try searching for the exact model and also the message you are getting; chances are, someone else has had the same problem, and maybe found a solution. I've never used one of these to connect to the internet, so can't do much better than that.
It might be worth specifying the exact model on this thread, too.
One possibility is that a more recent kernel would work, but from my own searching just now, I got the impresssion Sakis 3G works independently of kernel support. It also now appears to be a defunct project, so maybe that's why. It's a shame, as sakis 3g has worked well for most users in the past.

Network Nanager can handle wireless connections in slackware, but in Salix OS, WiCD handles only wired lan. Pl. make the wicd recognize wireless also. In that case, I need not depend on SAKIS 3G

I'm connected to wireless internet by wicd right now. Perhaps you could open another thread to troubleshoot whatever problems you are having connecting that way?
EDIT
If you do, please give as much specific information as possible, such as your exact wireless card, what you tried, what happened; and don't forget to search both the Salix forums and wiki and more widely, with the same information.

Installed wvdial, wvstreams through sourcery. Now, Huawei 3G modem works.
I will remove sakis 3G. Waste package

I'm glad you got it to work.
I believe it works well for many users, and will continue to be available. One mustn't generalise.Waste package

Sorry, wrote that out of frustration.
mimosa,
Does your wicd recognize CDMA 3G dongles? You say you have wireless through wicd, but I think you must be using something other than a 3G usb modem. Pl. give ne the details of your wireless connection through wicd

Wicd does not support 3G, but it does support wireless. Sakis-3G supports nearly all 3G dongles, but apparently not yours, unfortunately.
