Hello Everyone,
I am a Slackware user making my way to Salix. Loved Slackware but need dependency resolution. (Tried Fedora and didn't click with it).
I am trying to install VMWare Player - but the installer is failing and I am not sure even where to begin trying to fix it.
I downloaded the package from http://www.vmware.com/products/player (all the way at the bottom where it says Free For Personal Use is a link), and I made sure to make the file executable. I then use "su -" to login as root, and run the installer.
I agree to all the licenses, and then the installer looks fine, but then it goes into an 'uninstall mode' almost and the installer fails after removing the config files.
Any help is appreciated; the exact file I downloaded was:
VMware-Player-6.0.3-1895310.x86_64.bundle
VMWare Player 6.0.3 Install Issues

Thanks gapan - that was exactly the problem.gapan wrote:You probably need to install the kernel-source package.
Everything is working well now.
