Fluxbox?

I am installing Fluxbox and this step I am stuck on

and then as root

$ make install

how do I do this as root.

Im just following instructions from the install file....Im new at this

There is a thing called a "package manager". It's used to install software. You really should read the startup guiide (linked from the main page).

It is a Deskotop enviroment. You need to log-in into it.

As gapan asked, why are you compiling from source? There are iso images for Salix Fluxbox 14.1 on the download page.
