(SOLVED) file and folder desktop titles abbreviated

hello,

I have noticed on my salix desktop that when I make a file or folder that is more than two words long that the words (title) gets abbreviated. for example, I have a couple of folders:
2nd buy aux cable
2nd buy collets

this is what they read on the desktop:
2nd buy a...
2nd buy c...

I know it's a bad idea to have a long file or folder name, but I don't consider those names to be that long. it would be most helpful if someone could show me how to fix my salix so that the entire name is shown on my files and folders displayed.

Add the following to the .gtkrc-2.0 file in your users home directory

style "xfdesktop-icon-view" {
    XfdesktopIconView::ellipsize-icon-labels = 0
}
widget_class "*XfdesktopIconView*" style "xfdesktop-icon-view"

Then log out and back in.
