Hi westms!

You are to fast for me
Yesterday i phrase for your answer but now you have change it...

So here the (short) answer of the questions yesterday:

The "spi-u" test is a good test, when you do it repeatedly!
He has nothing to transfer - only to solve the address...

It doesn't matter if you use WICD or NetworkManager!
That's why I tested with several distributions.

Sorry for my short answer about the "crippled DSL router modem"
(I am not very familiar with this equipment.)
Many users in the relevant forums insults about the Pirelli but this is wrongfully.
It is a simple Modem/Router for "grandmothers" and you hardly couldn't misplace anything.
If you are interrested:

I have read your description - but unfortunately this is outdated!
See also: http://setuprouter.com/router/pirelli/p ... 2n/dns.htm
This modem has a new firmware and you couldn't change the DNS-Server!
It looks like:
http://cdn2.a1.net/final/de/media/pdf/A ... V4202N.pdf

And yes - 10.0.0.138 is the address of the modem - sent by dhcpd.
So my computer know were to ask for the DNS-Server - I think that's ok!

I am sure there is a bug in the firmware of the Pirelli-modem
Because IPv6-modul (and other Slackware-Distros) works perfect with the Thompson-modem!

Hm, I have a further idea: I will make a factory-reset - but later!
(otherwise I meet problems and I couldn't answer)

Don't bother - I am pleasure with my solution! :D

Thanks
