Re: VBox not running
I did download the binary, but I need to update kernel packages.

						Re: VBox not running
I installed the kernel source according to the guide (FAQ) some time ago.
I moved to 14.2 by upgrading from 14.0 or maybe even 13.x according to the recommendations in the user documentation.
By that I have always got the kernel packages updated and installed.
I have no clue whats wrong on your machine...

Re: VBox not running
If you are still facing this issue, try following the steps from this post viewtopic.php?f=16&t=7236 using a fresh install:
You can confirm the kernel package names used in the slapt-get above with either of these commands:

						Code: Select all
 spi -u
 spi -U
 spi -i kernel-source
 slapt-get -i kernel-firmware kernel-headers kernel-huge kernel-modules
 lilo -v
 reboot
 /run/media/.../VBoxLinuxAdditions.runCode: Select all
 ls -l /var/log/packages/kernel*
 spi -U
