Maybe it should be clarified that yes, Salix does handle package dependencies, but only for Salix & the 'special' Slackware repositories included in Salix default configuration for gslapt/slaptget, not for any other third parties for whom we couldn't guaranty any sort of quality or compatibility control.

One is always free to direct gslapt/slaptget to any other third parties' package repositories, which may or may not handle dependencies, which may or may not be of sufficient quality and which may or may not be compatible with Salix. In such a case, you should know what you are doing because you may or may not end up breaking your system.

@thenktor/Akuna,

Thanks for the clarification, i was under the assumption [now proved wrong], that GSB handled deps as well. Part of the reason was the fact that it did download and install some dependent objects automatically.

It's supposed to. But maybe something is wrong with their dependency database, maybe they missed that dependency.
