I just installed Salix on my Acer Aspire One netbook. The ethernet works fine, but the device does not see the wifi. How do I get the wifi accessed and turned on so I can use it?
If i run lspci -vnn I get the following at the bottom so I can see it "knows" there's supposed to be wireless...
Can anyone help?
Salix on Acer Aspire netbook and NO WIFI
Re: Salix on Acer Aspire netbook and NO WIFI
Do you mean the connection to the router, the router modem or to another computer on the local network? Ethernet is local. Or are you saying that a wired connection to the World Wide Web works? I think you want to say the latter.
If you have a double terminal icon in the (xfce4-)panel, you are currently using the Network Manager applet.
Right-clicking on this icon will bring up a drop-down menu where you can check the connection status of existing connection possibilities and make settings. For a working wireless connection you have to do some configuration there.

Can you try posting the output of lspci again.
