KDE / Plasma 5.23.5 latest in gslapt
KDE / Plasma 5.23.5 latest in gslapt
I'm using plasma because I prefer it over xfce. I installed a while back using the 'slapt-get --install-set kde' command and it works great. I was just curious if there is a later version and how to upgrade to it or is there any danger in continuing to use this one. As for plasma apps, when I haven't found one I like in the repository, such as a weather app, I've had great luck just installing a flatpak version since it brings in any dependencies and stays current.
Re: KDE / Plasma 5.23.5 latest in gslapt
Following up again to ask if it is okay to stay on Plasma 5.23.5. I does everything I need it to do but I'm not sure about possible security holes with a DE that goes back to 2021.

There is no newer version of KDE available for 15.0 other than what's in the repos. You could try building a newer one with the slackbuilds on current, it may work, or not. In any case, it's not something I recommend you do.
As for staying with 5.23.5, you're talking about security holes. Are you aware of any?

Thanks. I'm not aware of any security holes. I think I'll stay with 5.23.5. It's fast and working very well. In fact, the best KDE experience I've had as far as stability goes.
