System hangs

Ten days after the kernel was changed, I can confirm: there are no more hangs.

That is nice.

During the last days, I've seen that Salix 15.0, with the default 5.15 kernel, fails to even boot some new hardware. It looks like we need an updated release with a newer kernel. :roll:

Yes. The Slackware 15 is more than 3 years old. Anybody knows if Slackware 16 is over the horizon?

Only Patrick Volkerding can know tht, but I am not even sure he does :lol:

Meanwhile, I just provided an unofficial ISO that installs a slightly modernized Salix (newer kernel, usage of GRUB and dracut, btrfs file system), see this message. Maybe gapan can take inspiration from it to provide an updated release? I am ready to help.
