Will the huge kernel be installed by default on my laptop if I use the Live installer? 13.0 32 bit.

LiveCD installer...which kernel is installed? Huge.x?
Re: LiveCD installer...which kernel is installed? Huge.x?
At the moment Salix Live installer only offers kernel-huge-smp.

What really matters is where you are going, not where you come from.
Re: LiveCD installer...which kernel is installed? Huge.x?
Explanation:
* huge kernels are the only ones that run without initrd.
* everything i686 and upwards should run smp kernels (and below i686 nothing will run a LiveCD at usable speed)

Thanks...I have a Precision m6500 Laptop with an i7 820 quad in it...with regular Slack, I would recompile the kernel including the file system in it....guess I should act accordingly here? or not necessary? I would think on this machine it would be academic....thanks for the replies, I've been gone a whilethenktor wrote:Explanation:

Re: LiveCD installer...which kernel is installed? Huge.x?
File system support is already included in the huge kernel, so you don't need to recompile it for it. Unless you want to have your own version of the generic kernel of course.
