Parole - no color

Whenever I play a downloaded clip in Parole, there is No color. I have tried adjusting under preferences but still no color. Suggestions appreciated.

I find the same no color issue in other players...Dragon, VLC.


Later - in Parole, I increased he and saturation and now have color. I would still appreciate understand why I had to do this. I have never used Parole before. Thanks

I'm guessing this is a problem with the video encoding with that certain file. Especially when video players that use completely different backends exhibit the same behavior as parole, which uses gstreamer.
