Evince - SOLVED

Post by jbs1136 »

Is there a way to set the preferences, I have searched their website, my home directory and the /etc. I even used Catfish and searched for evince and could not find anything that looked like it might be used to set the preferences. I don't use it often but it would be nice to have it open a document the way I like and not have to reset everything everytime.

Thanks for any help,

john

No, I don't think there is. Evince used to remember things like that in previous versions, but not anymore it seems.

Certainly not a normal behaviour though. Hopefully will be fixed in future version of evince.

What really matters is where you are going, not where you come from.

Checked bugzilla and found two bugs already submitted. The first was about 2.20 and ended in 2008. There was a new bug reported in June of this year and I added a comment to it. It is marked as normal, unconfirmed in status.

This was discussed on the Slackbuilds mailing list:
Niels Horn posted: "Evince changed to using the schema-based GSettings, removing the
GConf stuff. These GSettings functions are not available in 'our'
glib."
