I haven't tried it, but the instructions look thorough. This is for XP - may or may not be tweakable for 7.

However, if you do just want a more robust installation medium, using USB should be quite straightforward.
Oh I see. It's been a long time since I messed about with Windows PE environments (as it was with XP) but I'm sure there's something similar for Windows 7.

I lost interest because it was just too damn slow to boot compared to a Linux live CD but things may have improved now.
