In fact, any normal user is in the lp group. I knew that once. It slipped my mind in the meantime. And? Your answer to the little insignificant error in my statement is inappropriate.
The cups package is a slackware package. If you want something configured differently in there, you should talk to Pat Volkerding. We are not going to replace any slackware package for something that minor.
What package replacement? To add some configuration isn't a replacement. It is not "something that minor" also. Many people struggle with the CUPS configuration. Of course all could read the manual. If they did, then there would be no problem forums.
You change packages as desired, from much smaller reasons as "something that minor." For you it's no problem to change the sysvinit package, only to obtain a colored output of the scripts in /etc/rc.d. This was completely unnecessary and its a real replacement of a package for nothing. The ruler must not follow its own rules. I turn your own words against you, and expand it: Check your facts before posting - its your own work, you should know it.
But maybe there's something else we can do...

Because you just asked, yes, indeed.
I came across two errors.
One of them increasingly prevents the appearance of the cursor during startup after login. This error occurred with Salix 14.0 for the first time. I think it is related to the previous shutdown sequence.
The other error deteriorated significantly and suddenly communication with the WAN, to the (apparent) standstill, and concerns according to my knowledge only Salix 13.37, 14.0 and 14.0.1. But I still have to check whether it also affects the communication on the LAN.
For both, I can create new topics, but is that useful here at all? I do not want to get another: tell it to Patrick Volkerding or maybe to Linus Torvalds.
