Problem with Gnu Privacy Assistant (and a solution?)

Post by NuncaSeSabe »

After installing Salix 13.1 I had a problem with the Gnu Privacy Assistant: it didn't let me import my keyfiles, neither from a file (previously exported from enigmail), nor from an Internet keyserver.

When checking the file/ folder permissions in my home folder I found that the hidden folder .gnupg was set to owner = root, group = root. Same for the files inside this folder. I don't know if this was done on purpose but after changing the owner of the folder and files to my user and the group to "users" I could import my keyfiles into GPA.

Saludos!

I can confirm that I have the same problem in one laptop. It seems not to be the case for other installations I have here. This needs further investigation, I don't think the directory should belong to root.
