new on Salix OS

im downloading salix-xfce-13 now and i have some questions im using linux for 1.5 year(ubuntu ,mint,pardus,mandriva,debian,suse) i never used slackware based distro before i did some research and i think Salix OS more user friendly than slackware , is this true?

^^ is Salix OS %100 compatible with slackware?

and my last question is salixos's install shorter and friendlier than slackware

Salix OS is as it says

Salix is a linux distribution based on Slackware that is simple, fast and easy to use. Salix is also fully backwards compatible with Slackware, so Slackware users can benefit from Salix repositories, which they can use as an "extra" quality source of software for their favorite distribution. Like a bonsai, Salix is small, light & the product of infinite care.

So, yes it is somewhat easier than Slackware, but this is because mostly of the fact that Salix uses more GUI front-ends for various utilities, etc

Personally, I don't think Slackware is hard anyway, that's a misconception probably propagated by *buntu lover's.

So, yes to being compatible with Slackware.

And Yes to the last question; Salix has a great GUI installer if using the LiveCD.

Slackware is the greatest distro, and Salix OS is the best Slackware-based distro.

The installer on the normal install ISOs is simplified and much faster than the Slackware installer, too
