[solved] problem downloading yakuake - v13.37

Post by f.bluedevil »

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a bug or problem but in either case; I'm not having any success trying to download yakuake in the last rc for 13.37 (very nice by the way).

Both Sourcery Slackbuild Manager and slapt-src produce the same results:

Code: Select all

yakuake.SlackBuild: line 54: cmake: command not found
fakeroot -- sh yakuake.SlackBuild Failed
yakuake is the last piece I need to make Salix 13.37 my perfect environment.

Suggestions appreciated!

I think you have to install cmake with slapt-get...

Kerd,

Thanks for the insight. I installed cmake and the install did get further along but unfortunately ended with a new error message:

Code: Select all

CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindKDE4.cmake:58 (MESSAGE):
ERROR: Could not find KDE4 kde4-config
Call Stack (most recent call first):
  CMakeLists.txt:3 (find_package)

CMake Warning (dev) in CMakeLists.txt:
No cmake_minimum_required command is present. A line of code such as

    cmake_minimum_required(VERSION 2.8)

should be added at the top of the file. The version specified may be lower
if you wish to support older CMake versions for this project. For more
  information run "cmake --help-policy CMP0000".
This warning is for project developers. Use -Wno-dev to suppress it.

-- Configuring incomplete, errors occurred!
fakeroot -- sh yakuake.SlackBuild Failed
I

I tried but could not find a kde4-config package and I'm guessing from the rest of the error message that the build package needs to be modified. However, not being a package builder, I can't be positive.

Any ideas as to what the next step should be?

Thanks Duncan and Kerd,

Ok, fakeroot was installed, I installed kdelibs and then installed yakuake successfully ...kinda. However, when I opened the program I got the following message:
yakuake was unable to load the Konsole component. A Konsole installation is required to use yakuake.
I tried using slapt-get to install Konsole but it comes back with no such package. I know Konsole is the terminal application for KDE but it appears that it can't be installed as a stand-alone package. I don't know if there is a way around this, but if the only solution is to install a KDE desktop, I'm not sure I want to go there. :(

No, no way around it. Yakuake depends on KDE.

Quick add-on to my last post.

I have installed yakuake on a Gnome desktops before without installing Konsole, so the "Konsole" requirement has me puzzled?
