I have successfully installed Salix-13.37 in my good woman's HP-2133 after licking the
wireless connection problem and would like to make Salix my new working distro in my
own desktop PC.
However, there is one major problem: I cannot run Applixware Office suite. Trying to open
Applix it comes back cannot find library libgtk-1.2.so.0 even so this library is installed.
"ldd applix" says libgtk-1.2.so.0 not found. ldconfig gives no errors.
I have run Applix for more than 10 years, first in RedHat, later in Slackware and some
derivatives like VectorLinux even in its latest VL-7-RC1 version.
Why would it not run in Salix?
Any help appreciated!
libgtk-1.2.so.0
Re: libgtk-1.2.so.0
Are you sure you have gtk+ (not gtk+2) installed?
If no, install it with:
slapt-get -u
slapt-get -i gtk+
If yes, please run:
ls -l /usr/lib*/libgtk-1*
and post the output.
EDIT: gapan was faster

Re: libgtk-1.2.so.0
Thanks!
Yes gtk+ was not installed.
Applix opens now.
On to new deeds.
