Hello. I used ubuntu/xubuntu until now. I discovered your distro with xfce and instaled it on my notebook acer extensa 5230. Everythink is ok except two problems. I have got a problem with bootloader. When I chose Linux in Lilo, it started long because started-up Bios check. I writted into /etc/lilo.conf "compact" and saved it but Bios check still start. I had reinstall lilo with grub2 from Gslapt however unfortunately lilo start for restart. ...My other problem is with usb modem Huawei. In Ubuntu and Xubuntu I used Sakis 3G script, and everything was ok. In Salix when I started Sakis 3G, modem´s led diod shine in blue and type it connect to Orange, but in network manager I haven´t got broadband option, only wifi and eth0. Firefox undownload any web site. I would like rather grafical network manager which is in *Ubuntu/Xubuntu. Thanks and excuse my English.

You need to run lilo to apply the changes you made. Just editing the lilo.conf file is not enough.

As for your modem, do a search in the forums for "UMTS".
