Even XFCE 4.8,0 is classed as obsolete. My Salix system offers 4,6,2!

The more you use Salix OS the more you will appreciate it as a as an easy to Install and Use Slackware.
.......If You would like to try a Slackware which concentrates on the Latest packages with Ease of install and Use a secondary consideration then maybe Zenwalk or Slackware itself.
Slackware ( Manjaro ) Salix, AntiX, Bunsen, Calculate

XFCE 4.8 is the latest version availble for download at the XFCE website: http://archive.xfce.org/xfce/4.8/fat_tarballs/ How can it be obsolete?

At time of Salix 13.37 release the old stable version 4.6.2 was considered to be more stable and reliable, so Salix ships with that version until next Salix release.
